We operate as a very small team—the Owner and one full-time employee—who each have 10+ years of diverse experience in the retail industry. Our Pop-Up Shop program is essential to connect with our customers face-to-face and building our brand community across Austin.

The Role
We are looking for an outgoing, highly motivated, and organized individual to manage and execute our local pop-up shop events. This role is perfect for someone who loves customer interaction, thrives working independently, and is excited to be a front-line ambassador for the Frankie Jean brand.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management & Timing:
-Events are typically 6 hours long. This role additionally requires approximately 1 hour for setup prior to the event start and 30 minutes for breakdown afterward.
-Please note that events are frequently held outdoors, weather permitting. The associate must be comfortable working in various outdoor conditions.
Logistics & Setup:
-Pick up and transport inventory, displays, and equipment (shelves, racks, table) from the Frankie Jean showroom to various event locations around Austin.
-Independently manage the timely setup of our booth, ensuring it is visually appealing, on-brand, and effectively showcases our clothing, accessories, and hats. Booths are typically 10’ x 10’.
Sales & Brand Ambassadorship:
-Act as the sole representative of Frankie Jean during events, demonstrating an outgoing, energetic personality.
-Enthusiastically educate customers on the Frankie Jean brand story, customizable options, product quality, and styling.
-Actively engage with shoppers and be motivated to sell to strangers to meet sales goals.
-Serve as our "eyes and ears": Collect crucial customer feedback on products, identify gaps in our collections, and relay insights on what customers are saying and what they might be looking for.
-Handle all customer transactions using our Point of Sale (POS) system (Shopify).
Tear-Down & Returns:
-Efficiently break down the pop-up display and safely pack all remaining inventory and equipment.
-Return all items to the Frankie Jean showroom following the event.
Inventory & Reporting:
-Maintain organization of products and displays throughout the event.
-Assist with basic end-of-day sales reporting and inventory reconciliation.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: $10/hour for all time spent setting up, working the event, and breaking down.
Logistics Flat Fee: A flat fee of $10 is paid for picking up inventory, and a flat fee of $10 is paid for dropping off inventory
Commission: a 10% commission is earned on all sales made during the event
Reimbursement: Paid parking required for an event will be reimbursed (within reason)

Requirements & Qualifications
Technology: Must own a relatively newer smartphone capable of running our Point of Sale (POS) system reliably during events.
Transportation: Must own or have reliable access to a vehicle capable of transporting the typical pop-up setup (shelves, racks, inventory totes).
Sales Experience: Prior experience in retail, customer service, or sales is preferred. Comfort and motivation to sell to strangers is essential.
Tech Savvy: Ability to quickly learn and comfortably operate a mobile POS system. Experience with Shopify POS is a major plus, but a strong willingness to learn new technology is sufficient.
Independent & Organized: Highly organized with excellent time management skills. Must be comfortable working independently and making decisions on site.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and stand for the duration of the event.
Brand Alignment: Must be naturally outgoing and excited to represent the Frankie Jean aesthetic and values.
Availability: Must have availability on weekends as most events take place during the day on Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional weekday events may also be scheduled.
Training
The team will provide initial training and support. This may include:
Showroom Demo: Learning the standard setup, packing procedures, and POS system functionality
On-Site Shadowing: The Owner may accompany you for the first few events to guide you through the logistics, setup and teardown process.
